Meet The Team
CBH Inc. Board Leadership Team

Program and Public Relations Director
Jamie McBride
Jamie lives in Big Rapids, MI, but is originally from Elkhart, IN. She does much of the administrative work and is the contact person for summer camp programming. Some of her duties at camp include recruiting staff for summer camps, managing the camp schedule, website, and social media, depositing checks for CBH, nurturing relationships with district churches, and maintaining the camp's licensing.
Previously, Jamie worked as a member of the Summer Staff at Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana, for four summers. Before that, she had been a camper there throughout her childhood. She is a Manchester University, Bethany Theological Seminary, and Goshen College Alum. She has recently returned part-time to Bethany to pursue a Master of Divinity degree and is also a part-time Substitute Teacher. You can often find her running, walking, hiking, swimming, or playing video games in her free time.

Facilities and Marketing Director
Austin Bancroft
He lives on the property at CBH. He oversees the maintenance of the property and facilities at CBH, is the contact person for the non-brethren local community, and is the contact person for rentals.
Austin thinks it's truly amazing how life has brought me back full circle to Jehnsen Lake, where he used to spend his summers visiting his grandparents. Little did he know that one day, he would have the privilege of working on this very lake that holds such a special place in his heart.
Austin has always had a strong drive to continually improve himself and his surroundings, and now he has the incredible opportunity to maintain and enhance the camp's beautiful property. What makes it even more fulfilling is knowing that he gets to play a part in bringing people closer to God through their connection with nature. As he embarks on this new journey, he eagerly anticipates the wonderful adventures and lifelong memories that lie ahead.

Chair
Jack Durnbaugh
Jack has been serving on the Board since 2019. He was raised in the same house that he currently resides in Waterford. Jack and his wife, Joanna, raised their daughters there. For his job he has been working for Ford Motor Company for almost 30 years as a maintenance repair Toolmaker, but he is looking forward to retiring in March of 2025.
Both sides of his grandparents, as well as his parents, were involved with Camp. His two brothers, his sister, and Jack attended Camp while growing up. Jack's brother Jerry was on staff for a short time while the Snavleys were Camp Managers. His girls have grown up to appreciate Camp through Labor Day weekend retreats. Jack's family all have a deep sense of connection with Camp and have always loved our quiet respite overlooking the lake from the chapel window.

Vice-chair
Tim Joseph
Tim is just one year younger than Camp Brethren Heights and cares deeply about the place his parents' generation built with such love and devotion. He thrived as a camper and at youth retreats. Tim has continued through life to use his skills in masonry and carpentry to maintain and improve the grounds and buildings at Camp Brethren Heights. Most of the stonework around Camp Brethren Heights is his work. He also did much of the work that allowed the girls' cabins and bathhouse roofs to be re-roofed.

Treasure
Carla Grant
As a retired CPA, she uses her skills to ensure that fees and donor contributions are appropriately and carefully applied to the programming and maintenance of facilities.
She started attending camp around 1970 and notes that it was the highlight of every summer of her childhood because of the lasting friendships that began there. Her mom and dad attended camp in the early years, and she and her children continued the tradition. Now, her grandson also loves being a fourth-generation Brethren Heights camper.

Carla has volunteered as "Dean" of Bobcat Camp for several years and enjoys working with other staff members to provide spiritual growth and lots of fun for middle-school campers.

Secretary
Jenny Deweese
Jenny, the 2nd of 4 children, was born into the Church of the Brethren. She attended Midland COB and eventually Shepherd COB throughout her childhood. After getting married, Jenny and her husband, Jason, attended Drayton Plains COB while living in Lapeer, where their three children, Russell, Cammy, and Daisy, were born. Eventually, they moved to Jenny's hometown of Hemlock, MI, and started attending The Church in Drive, founded and pastored by Jenny's older brother, Nate Polzin. Jenny has served in multiple capacities at the district level in the MI COB and has always been heavily involved in every church she's attended.
Currently, Jenny is employed by Shield of Faith Ministries in Saginaw, MI, as care pastor, which involves managing the office, keeping the books, managing cleaning and grounds volunteers, special ministries such as VBS, Christmas programs, Christmas caroling, etc., and some counseling. She is also the young adult group leader, a nursery volunteer, and sings on the worship team.
Jenny enjoys Bible study, drama, singing, creative arts, and activities that unite people for a common goal.
